CHIMAIRA: 'Save Ourselves' Video Posted Online

May 27, 2006

CHIMAIRA's video for the song "Save Ourselves" has been posted online at this location.

CHIMAIRA frontman Mark Hunter had previously confirmed that the band shot some of the footage for the "Save Ourselves" video during their headlining performance at The Icon in Buffalo, New York on March 23, 2006. A BLABBERMOUTH.NET visitor by the name of Chris Frerotte, who attended the show, had stated that "after the band finished their set, they said they were now going to film the crowd going nuts and the band playing for their new music video 'Save Ourselves'. The band then played 'Save Ourselves' for the second time of the night and some fat guy with a huge mullet was on stage filming it."

Commented Hunter in a March 24, 2006 e-mail to BLABBERMOUTH.NET: "We 'sort of' shot a video. A good friend of ours, Jason Haitkin, came out on tour with us for the past week and filmed a bunch of footage. I had an idea for a video that was something different and 'fun.' If it turns out too silly, then we will use it for our website. Not sure what we are going to do with it yet. We will have to wait until the edit. And it is true that he is a bit hefty, but the mullet was a wig!"

"Save Ourselves" comes off CHIMAIRA's self-titled effort, which was issued last August via Roadrunner Records. "Chimaira" was recorded at Spider Studios in Ohio with producer Ben Schigel. Mixing duties were handled by Colin Richardson (MACHINE HEAD, FEAR FACTORY, NAPALM DEATH).

CHIMAIRA are one of the bands taking part in the European edition of the Sounds of the Underground tour, which kicked off May 10 in Manchester, England. Also appearing on the bill are MADBALL, UNEARTH, TERROR, ALL THAT REMAINS and MANNTIS.
